Sean Poynton

Mr. Poynton specializes in business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations (ASC 805), impairment analyses (ASC 350), intellectual property valuations, contingent consideration valuations, and the valuation of equity (IRC 409A and ASC 718) for financial and tax reporting purposes.

Prior to VRC, Mr. Poynton was as associate at Murray Devine Valuation Advisors where he specialized in the valuation of privately-held firms and illiquid financial instruments including leveraged loans, preferred equity, common equity, and stock options. Prior to that, Mr. Poynton was a senior associate at PwC in the asset & wealth management practice.

Mr. Poynton earned his MBA and bachelor’s degrees from Saint Joseph’s University. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA).
