VRC Welcomes Senior Level Professionals, Associates, and Analysts Nationwide

New York (March 25, 2022) – Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading global provider of independent valuation support and advisory services, announced the addition of new senior executives across its national offices, including Eugene Wu, a former Grant Thornton director, and Huan Shu who previously was a vice president at Duff and Phelps. They join as senior vice presidents. The firm has also hired several new analysts, associates, and vice presidents as it sees continued robust demand for third-party valuation work.

Shu joins VRC’s San Francisco office as senior vice president in the complex securities group. Prior to joining VRC, she was a senior manager at NetEase Games and vice president at Duff and Phelps, where she gained experience in valuing complex financial instruments. She earned her Master of Arts in Mathematical Finance from Boston University and her Master of Engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing. She has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Wu joins the New York office as senior vice president. A former Grant Thornton director, he previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte on valuation services teams. His early career years were spent at Duff & Phelps and BearingPoint. He graduated magna cum laude from Binghamton University (State University of New York), School of Management with a Bachelor of Science, Concentration in Financial Engineering. He earned his M.B.A. from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Presiyan Lazarov, CFA – Lazarov joins VRC in Boston as vice president. His professional background includes management and analyst positions with RSM, Axiom Valuation, John Hancock, and KPMG. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Economics in Varna, Bulgaria, and graduated from Boston University with a dual concentration M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy.

Steven Nguyen, ASA – Nguyen joins VRC’s San Francisco office as vice president, machinery and equipment. Before joining VRC, he spent almost two decades with Duff & Phelps as a vice president, fixed asset management & insurance solutions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from California State University of Fullerton and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) through The American Society of Appraisers.

Christopher M. Dougherty – Dougherty joins VRC’s Princeton office as vice president in the portfolio valuation group. His career in valuation prior to VRC included time at KPMG and TD Bank. He has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business. He is a candidate for Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from Corporate Finance Institute.
