Mellen will present on August 26 at 1:00 p.m. discussing a business owner’s exit planning experience. Considerations include either establishing and selling his shares to an ESOP for his employees or selling the company in an M&A transaction to an outside third party. With four different offers, what should he do?
Pumphrey will present on August 27 at 9:05 a.m. discussing a holistic view of small stock premiums. The session will explore:
- How to navigate the vast amount of small stock premium data
- Many relevant studies published since the small stock premium phenomenon was first identified
- The measurement, application, and continued existence of small stock premiums
Patel is a widely respected valuation expert and a frequent presenter on valuation issues for financial reporting purposes. He has been on the Fair Value panel at the AICPA SEC Conference, is an active member of the AITF, and was a member of the Appraisal Foundation’s Working Group preparing an industry Practice Aid for valuing customer-related assets. He is regularly quoted in the media on valuation issues.
Falcon has extensive experience in business valuation for financial and tax purposes, project management and corporate finance. She specializes in allocation of purchase price, brand valuation, financial reporting valuations and global taxes.
Mellen has nearly 30 years of experience across a wide range of industries providing valuation services in support of tax planning and compliance, strategic planning, financing, mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, post-acquisition purchase price allocation, and financial reporting. He is the co-author of the book Valuation for M&A: Building & Measuring Private Company Value. He is an active member of the AITF and chairman of continuing education and instructor for the International Association of Certified Valuation Specialists (IACVS).
Pumphrey has over 10 years of experience performing business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment analyses, and the valuation of claims within complex capital structures for public and private companies. Pumphrey has presented on financial reporting at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Forensic & Valuation Services Conference and has guest lectured on valuation topics at Drexel University.
