VRC Expands Team Across U.S. with Senior Executives and Junior Staff

Demand for valuation work continues

New York (November 15, 2022) – Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading global provider of independent valuation support and advisory services, announced the addition of senior executives, associates, and analysts across its offices. The senior hires bring years of experience in the valuation industry, including previous roles with Big Four firms.

Cheryl Cheng, CFA, CPA-CA, CBV joins VRC’s New York office as senior vice president. Prior to joining VRC, she worked in valuation positions at CPP Investments, KPMG, and Ernst & Young. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto.

In San Francisco, Oleg Pesterev joins as senior vice president. He previously held management positions at DCF Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led valuation engagements related to complex securities. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Moscow State University, an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from California State University-East Bay, and a Master of Financial Economics from University of California-Berkeley.

Wayne Tucker joins VRC’s Dallas office as senior vice president. Previously he was a director at Cleco, where he researched tax issues, and at Grant Thornton, where he performed valuations of public and privately held businesses. He received a BA in Finance and Political Science from Doane College, an MA in Accounting from Tulane University, and a JD in Tax and Business Law from Tulane University Law School.

Akshay Arora joins VRC in New York as vice president. In previous roles at Deloitte, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank, Arora performed valuations of complex debt and equity assets. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Delhi University, an MA in Financial Engineering from EISTI, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Intelligence and Reporting from Montreal College of Information Technology.

Vineet Nanda, CFA, FRM joins VRC’s Chicago office as vice president. His previous industry experience includes Houlihan Capital, where he valued derivatives and Prospect Capital, where he worked as a valuation and financial due diligence associate. Nanda earned a BA in Business Economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA in Finance from Amity University.

Charles Chen, FRM joins VRC’s New York office as vice president. Previously, he held positions at Royal Bank of Canada and Deloitte. Chen earned his BA in Financial and Business Economics and MA in Economics from York University. He holds the designation of Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

The senior hires are joined by several new analysts and associates across the country:

  • Boston: Courtlandt Spear, senior associate; Davis Kelliher and Douglas Young, analysts
  • Princeton: Robert Bunch, senior associate; Spencer Blanchard, Logan Frank, Zachary Sun, Stavan Thakkar, analysts
