Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading provider of third-party valuation support, co-hosted the second annual Private Debt Summit with Ernst & Young LLP (EY) and Eversheds Sutherland. The event “BDC and Direct Lending Emerging Topics and Industry Outlook” was held on Thursday, June 7 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in New York. The event featured panels of industry and subject-matter advisors offering insights on the emerging topics impacting business development companies and direct lenders.
“This was a very informative event with great panels discussing a variety of topics including current industry growth opportunities and challenges, the increase in BDC borrowing capacity to a 2:1 leverage ratio, pending accounting, valuation and regulatory changes, outlook for fund borrowers including a discussion on Trump tax reform, and general outlook for the industry. It was helpful to have senior leaders in the industry from a variety of private debt funds discussing their viewpoints,” said John Czapla who heads VRC’s Portfolio Valuation practice group.
- This was a must-attend event for private debt funds including BDCs and other direct lenders, private equity fund managers and anyone interested in alternative investments. The event included three-panel discussions:
The evolution of the BDC industry and its impact on accounting, financial reporting and tax
- Industry perspectives: a discussion on growth, rates and leverage and impact on valuations.
- A discussion with industry leaders on BDC trends and hot topics
