New York, NY (March 6, 2020) – Valuation Research Corporation’s Sarit Rapport recently began calling the shots as president of the New York chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and is busy getting the team in shape for March Madness. No, the group isn’t sending a squad to the Big Dance, but it is sponsoring a March Madness watch event on March 19 in Manhattan. While all are welcome, current and prospective ASA members under the age of 40 are especially encouraged to attend.
“This is shaping up to be a fantastic event and networking opportunity but it’s also serious business,” said Rapport. “As valuation professionals, I know that many of our members put a lot of thought and work into their brackets—let’s just say that the term ‘Monte Carlo simulation’ has come up more than once.”
Rapport, who is a member of VRC’s Portfolio Valuation Group and has served on the ASA’s board for several years, was elected president last fall. The ASA, an international valuation association that teaches, tests, accredits, and refers professional appraisers, is the oldest and only major organization in the United States representing all disciplines of appraisal specialists. The New York chapter represents more than 200 appraisal specialists and sponsors multiple social and professional development events over the course of the year.
The Rising Stars March Madness Opening Round 2020 event will take place Thursday, March 19, from 6:00 to10:00pm EDT at Connolly’s Pub, 14 E. 47th St., New York, NY. For further information and registration, click here.
