PJ Patel to Moderate CFA Society New York Panel

Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading global provider of independent valuation support and advisory services, announced that co-CEO and senior managing director PJ Patel will moderate a panel at an upcoming CFA Society New York webinar. Panelists will include Scott Taub, managing director at Financial Reporting Advisors and Kevin Vaugh, senior associate chief accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The CFA Society’s virtual event, “What’s New in Accounting,” will take place on February 2, and will provide an overview of the latest news, updates, and trends in accounting. Speakers will discuss recent Financial Accounting Standards Board pronouncements and their impacts and explore the FASB’s plans and initiatives. Investment professionals will also speak on the impacts of new accounting and audit standards, especially focusing on companies’ financial statements and other key topics for investors.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET, with the moderated panel discussion lasting for 55 minutes. After attending the session, participants will be adept in the following topics:

  • Overview of new accounting standards effective in 2019 and 2020 financial reporting periods
  • Newly announced, effective SEC reporting issues of PCAOB requirements
