Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading provider of independent valuation services, is pleased to announce Paul Balynsky, Managing Director of VRC, will speak at the Hedge Fund Association Symposium, to be held November 7 in Chicago.
The HFA Symposium “Valuation, What Managers Need to Know,” organized by HFA’s Chicago leadership team, will feature comments by industry experts and an interactive panel discussion addressing key valuation issues and takeaways covering:
- Guidance on the pending rule change affecting hedge fund and private equity managers: AICPA Accounting and Valuation Guide Valuation of Portfolio Company Investments of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds and Other Investment Companies
- Accounting, fair value and related valuation challenges for fund managers
Mr. Balynsky specializes in valuations of portfolios of privately-held securities primarily for financial reporting purposes. He has performed valuations of securities along the entire capital structure including senior debt, subordinated debt and complex, multi-class equity structures. Prior to joining VRC, Mr. Balynsky held the position of manager of financial analysis for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), in Washington, D.C. He holds the designation of chartered financial analyst (CFA) and is a certified public accountant accredited in business valuation (CPA/ABV). Mr. Balynsky earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University.
