PJ Patel to Present at TEI’s 74th Annual Conference in New Orleans on October 30

Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a leading global provider of independent valuation support and advisory services, is pleased to announce Co-CEO and Senior Managing Director PJ Patel will present at the upcoming Tax Executives Institute’s (TEI) 74th Annual Conference “Tax Department Transformation: From Technology to the TCJA.” The conference will be held October 28 – October 30, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans.

Patel will present at an international track session on October 30 at 11:00 a.m. titled “Valuation Around the World – A Survey of Trends in the United States, Brazil, India, China and Germany.” The topics explored in the session will also be featured in an article authored by Patel and Anthony Pumphrey that will appear in the Nov/Dec 2019 issue of TEI’s Tax Executive journal publication.

Tax Executives Institute, Inc. is the preeminent, global association of in-house tax professionals. Its members are business executives responsible for the tax affairs of their employers in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity. The 74th Annual Conference will examine continuing international, federal and state and local tax implementation dimensions of the TCJA, as well as closely examine:

  • Tax challenges of digitalization
  • Integrating technology into specific tax departments
  • Global tax administration, including information sharing
  • The evolving role of the in-house tax department
  • New program and compliance initiatives from the IRS
  • Key FASB policy developments

Patel specializes in the valuation of businesses, assets and liabilities for financial reporting purposes. A holder of a master’s degree in business administration from Canisius College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, he also holds the designations of chartered financial analyst (CFA) and accredited senior appraiser (ASA). Patel is a frequent presenter on valuation issues for financial reporting purposes and has recently presented on valuation issues relating to ASC 805, ASC 350/360 and ASC 820.
