Doug Peterson specializes in the valuation of business enterprises related to mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, shareholder transactions, tax planning and compliance, and financial reporting. He also issues fairness and solvency opinions for corporate boards of directors and senior management. In addition, he has experience in the valuation of intangible assets related to purchase price allocations and goodwill impairment studies. He has served clients in most major industries, with significant experience in the retail and packaged goods industries.
Prior to joining Valuation Research, Mr. Peterson held valuation positions with Duff & Phelps in Chicago, and KPMG, in Chicago and Atlanta. He provided corporate financial advisory services to clients and performed extensive financial analyses with respect to fairness opinions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment studies and corporate strategic planning.
Mr. Peterson holds a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. In addition, he holds the designation of chartered financial analyst (CFA). He is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Chicago Chapter, and the Business Valuation Association.
